Election Candidates' Views:

We are delighted to say that we are getting coverage in local media;
let's make this a real election issue!

We contacted hundreds of Parliamentary Candidates in order to find out whether they support the following statement, which is based on the text of our most recent Early Day Motion (which has now closed):
I believe that the safety of medicines should be established by the most reliable methods available in order to reduce the large and increasing toll of serious adverse drug reactions*; and that the Government should initiate an unprecedented comparison of currently required animal tests with a set of human biology-based tests, to see which is the most effective means to predict the safety of medicines for patients.

If your local prospective parliamentary candidates are not listed, either they have not replied yet or it may be that we were unable to contact them. We urge you to let candidates know how important this issue is to you by contacting them yourselves, or raising the issue when they call round to canvass your support. Candidates & MPs are always more interested to hear what their constituents think! Please let us know if you get a response.

Please note: MPs standing for re-election who have previously shown their support by signing EDM 569 or EDM 29 are not listed on this page. Please click on the links to see lists of then-MPs who supported these motions.
